Kris Boyd netted his 100th SPL goal for Rangers this afternoon as the Champions comfortably saw off Dundee United at Tannadice. Boyd, whos future could be away from Ibrox, has been finding it difficult to keep his name on the Rangers teamsheet due to the form of Kenny Miller and Kyle Lafferty but took his oppertunity today and was ruthle s infront of goal when given the chance.Boyd is congratulated by Fleck and NaismithThe newly-crowned SPL Champions made a host of changes to their side, with Steven Smith replacing the suspended Sasa Papac, Neil Alexander replacing Allan McGregor, Andrew Little replacing Steven Whittaker, Kirk Broadfoot was in for McCulloch in the heart of the defence, Boyd started ahead of Lafferty, Nacho Novo was in for Miller and John Fleck was in for Steven Davis. The home side made a number of changes aswell with only four players who started the game against Celtic in the team. Damian Casilinuovo, Danny Cadamarteri, David Robertson, Kevin Smith, Keith Watson and Craig Hill all started for Houstons side this afternoon.Rangers were absolutely superb today and could have easily left the pitch at half-time being 5 or 6 goals Naji Ozeir Jersey infront of their opponents. The Gers took an early lead through Kris Boyd after 2 minutes when John Flecks cute pa s was fired home by Boyd. Both sides had to make early changes through injuries, with Kevin Thomson being replaced by DaMarcus Beasley and Danny Cadamarteri swapped for Ryan Dow. Fleck made a fantastic impre sion today and in his natural No.10 role he made some excellent pa ses and was a real handful all afternoon. The youngster, who signed a new deal recently at Ibrox, was unlucky not to put Rangers two infront after left-foot shot was cleared off the line by Garry Kenneth.The Rangers faithful who had made the trip from Glasgow and acro s the UK were in party mood this afternoon after last weeks title succe s. The volume was turned up another notch when fans favourite Nacho Novo turned Sean Dillion inside-out before slamming home a fine finish with four minutes til half-time. The Gers were then denied a penalty just before half-time when Kris Boyd fell to the floor after being tugged by United defender Craig Hill but the referee ignored the claims and blew for half-time.The tempo to the second-half was nowhere near the same level as the first but there were some fine, energetic performances from the Rangers team as they fight for their futures at Ibrox. Steven Naismith has been on the fringes of the first-team this season but over the last few weeks has been a consistant performer in the side with his fine work-rate. Dundee United got a goal back very late on when Damian Casilinuovo headed home from a corner kick which made it very nervy for the Champions late on, but they did what they have done all season and held on to the victory.Next up for Rangers, the small matter of Tuesdays Old Firm clash.
