Securing environmental permits to operate massive aggregate quarries near expanding urban populations is an incredibly difficult, highly politicized endeavor. Consequently, existing, permitted quarries represent massive, irreplaceable strategic assets for material conglomerates. By continually mastering the complex logistics of localized heavy manufacturing, the concrete and aggregates sector ensures that engineers are never constrained by material shortages, unlocking an era of limitless architectural expansion.
